ABOUT ME

Writer of Romanian origin currently living in Italy. BA in Foreign Languages and Literatures and MA in Translation and Interpreting. Translator and literary critic. Editor of the cultural review LiterNautica, columnist and originator of the satirical section CanCarte – flippant news from the Romanian literary world.

My literature addresses social issues such as the confusion and alienation in the present world. It speaks up for the oppressed, the poor, the “mentally ill”, the immigrants, the “unfit”. It denounces patriarchy and its subtle mechanisms of oppression of women. It uncovers environmental pollution. Finally, it reveals what is left of humanity in an increasingly inhumane world.

The style is the main feature I’m frequently recognized for by my readers. Some are astonished and define it avant-garde, others have less patience and put my stories away after just two lines. I might risk someting by writing the way I do (in terms of readership), but I am determined to take that risk as I promised myself never to give up my idea of literature. I write on my own terms, and I mean it!
